About
Magic Valley Piloting.

Magic Valley Piloting is an owner-operated pilot car and escort service based in Gooding, Idaho — the heart of the Magic Valley. Twenty-plus years of self-employed operational experience across logistics, IT, and field work, applied to one job: getting oversize loads from A to B with a real driver who answers the phone.

Owner-operated

The person you call is the person who shows up.

When you call Magic Valley Piloting, you talk to the operator. When you book a run, you know who’s rolling. There’s no dispatcher relay, no subcontracted driver from a pool, no “we’ll see who’s available.”

That matters because oversize escort work has a lot of moving pieces — route specifics, permit details, schedule pressure, weather. The smaller the communication chain, the fewer things drop between the cracks.

The operator

Self-employed since 2003.

Joshua White has been self-employed for over twenty years — logistics, web development, IT support, graphic design, marketing, field operations. The common thread across all of it: when something matters, you show up prepared, and you don’t outsource the part the client actually paid for.

Magic Valley Piloting brings that same operational standard to pilot car work. Real preparation before the run. Real communication during the run. Real accountability after.

Pilot car network

If we can’t run it, we’ll find who can.

Pilot car people help pilot car people. When Magic Valley Piloting can’t directly cover a job — a service we don’t run like high-pole, a route outside our regular coverage, or a date conflict — we tap into a regional network of operators we trust.

You still get one phone number to start, and the right operator on the run. That’s how the pilot car industry actually works at its best: accountability by network, not by hoping one carrier covers everything.

Operational standards

Backup-ready fleet. Real preparation.

A pilot car that breaks down strands your load. The operational posture here is built around making sure that doesn’t happen.

Backup vehicle ready

Primary pilot car for daily work; backup vehicle on standby. If something happens to the primary, the run still goes.

Equipment redundancy

Spare lighting, signage, radios, and permits. The right gear for the run is in the rig before you call.

Real scheduling

A run gets confirmed when it’s on the calendar. No double-booking, no “we’ll see if we can make it.”

Local knowledge

Idaho-based operation. Magic Valley, Treasure Valley, and surrounding-state routes run regularly and known well.

Multi-state certified

Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, Montana — pilot car certifications kept current for the routes we run.

Always reachable

Phone, text, email. Day-of-run direct line. No phone tree, no “leave a message and someone will call back.”
